About

.“The only thing that interferes with my learning is my education.”-Albert Einstein

My name is Heather Jones and I currently reside in New York City. I have worked in the field of education for 5 years and I am going to my second year of graduate school.  I can’t think of a time when I wasn’t passionate about education reform. I’ve always been an avid reader and researcher, but I never really cared for school. I longed for an education that would enable me to pursue my interests. This is the school I hope to create. It is time to re-think our education system and the ways we create educational institutions. Is the only way to learn by sitting in rows, for eight hours a day, memorizing and reciting facts? Dare the School is an online community that re-imagines education in the 21st century. Let’s re-think old assumptions on school structure and learning. Let’s dare our schools and policymakers to adopt a new education paradigm.

It’s great to have your views from across the sea! And I love your thoughts on your own school – what it should be. So many of us beginning to think the same. Perhaps one day it will become reality!
    Best wishes, Ross

  3. Go Heather!! 😀
